Lies, Bribes and Alibis is a party game for aspiring lawyers or people who hate them. The game is easy to learn and offers an inside look into the sick criminal minds of your friends and family. Each round, one player acts as judge and presides over a crazy criminal charge against the group. Players will offer their most outrageous lies, bribes, or alibis to convince the judge to set them free. The game includes 151 cards including 150 outrageous criminal offenses that are mostly NOT real but should be, 1 appeal card because we had to make the game realistic, and a FREE BONUS of 5 blank cards to create your own crazy laws. Please note that we are the ONLY party game that officially endorses offering REAL brides to win a game.

About this item:
History of Game:
Lies, Bribes & Alibis is based upon a game concept played by real law school students wanting to relieve stress from their tough academic grind. Officially developed by an attorney years after his law school experience, this game was played over the course of a full semester. Anytime students came across a funny or bizarre criminal case, they recorded it and SPRUNG it upon their unsuspecting peers to break up long study periods and to reenergize a tired group. The surprised students would quickly respond with funny alibies or crazy defenses to the criminal charge. Real bribes (usually food-related) were offered when winning became important for bragging rights. The game was fun, addicting, and helped to further develop many great friendships along the way.
Rules of Game:
1. Gather friends who want to have a good time (and who don’t mind being arrested).
2. Determine (by vote) who is most likely to become a lawyer in real life, this person will be the judge in the first round. Switch judges for each round thereafter.
3. The judge turns the top card and reads the criminal charge to the group. Each player has 30 seconds to convince the judge that they are NOT GUILTY of this crime. Players offer alibis, excuses, justifications, stories, lies, and even real bribes as a defense. The judge will select the BEST response and that player will be found NOT GUILTY of the crime and will keep the card. The rest of the players are guilty. Repeat this process for each round. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the WINNER (and a pretty good lawyer).
4. Please consider this optional rule for a more intensive gaming experience: Right of Appeal (at least 4 players are needed) Give each player a chance of APPEAL after they have been found guilty of a criminal charge. The appealing player picks up the Appeal Card and announces “Appeal” in their best lawyerly voice (in the event of multiple players wishing to appeal the same judicial decision – it is the first player to pick up the card who is awarded the only Right of Appeal for that round. The appealing player now has 30 seconds to convince the JURY of their innocence (all players except the judge and the original NOT GUILTY player will vote on the appeal). If the appealing player convinces the ENTIRE jury, they become NOT GUILTY, bumping the original NOT GUILTY player to guilty. Each player has only 2 appeal chances per game.
